Cycle Safely Programme
Every day there are thousands of children who cycle to school, run errands or simply roaming the streets. The statistics of school children involved in road accident are hidden as the tragic consequences of such accidents are often too quickly forgotten.
In order to educate the younger generation on road safety and to train them on the various methods of defensive cycling, MVFRA took the initiative to organize the Cycle Safely Programme which was launched on June 8, .

With the co-operation of the Malaysian Road Safety Council (MKJR), a total of ten training sessions were held in K.L., Banting, Klang and Cameron Highlands.
Some of the sessions conducted:-
- Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur
- Berinchang, Cameron Highlands
- Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Power Station, Kapar
- Atria Shopping Complex, Damansara Utama
- Alstom Asia Power Sdn Bhd, Kuala Langat
- Universiti Teknology Malaysia, Skudai, Johor
The objective of this programme is to train children to be more aware of the dangers on the road and the steps taken to avoid accidents. They were trained on road discipline, common road courtesy, observe road signs, speed limits and more importantly, to have a correct attitude towards road safety. The training session also covers proper maintenance of bicycles including brakes, lights, reflectors etc. as well as how to do simple repairs.
