Live Casino for Beginners: How to Play at 96M with Live Dealers
Live casino lets you play baccarat, roulette, and blackjack with a real human dealer streamed to your screen — no download needed. This guide explains exactly how it works at 96M, which games to start with, and how to claim the unique Baccarat 8 Winning Streak Bonus worth up to RM3,888.
What Is a Live Casino?
The key difference between a live casino game and a standard online casino game is authenticity. Standard (RNG) slots and table games use computer algorithms to generate outcomes. Live casino games use real cards and real wheels — you can watch every shuffle, deal, and spin happen in front of you.
For Malaysian players who want the atmosphere of a casino without travelling to Genting Highlands or crossing the border, live casino is the most direct substitute. I've personally found the pace of live baccarat at 96M much more relaxing than slots — each round has a natural rhythm, and the dealer presence makes the experience feel less mechanical.
Common live casino game types include:
- Live Baccarat — the most popular live game in Malaysia; bet on Player, Banker, or Tie
- Live Roulette — spin a real wheel, bet on numbers or colours
- Live Blackjack — beat the dealer's hand to 21 without going bust
- Live Sic Bo — three-dice game popular across Southeast Asia
- Game Shows — formats like Lightning Roulette and Crazy Time (Evolution Gaming) blend live dealing with entertainment mechanics

Live Casino Providers at 96M

| WM Casino | Dragon Tiger, Baccarat variants | Players who prefer compact, fast-paced tables | Yes — simple game types |

Best Live Games for Beginners at 96M
The three easiest live casino games for new players are Live Baccarat, Live Roulette (European), and Dragon Tiger — all available at 96M through Evolution Gaming and Asia Gaming.
Live Baccarat
Live Baccarat is the most beginner-friendly live table game. There are only three betting options: Player wins, Banker wins, or Tie. The dealer handles all the card logic — you simply pick a side before the cards are dealt. The Banker bet carries a house edge of approximately 1.06%, making it one of the lowest house edges in live casino. 96M features multiple baccarat variants including Speed Baccarat (rounds complete in under 30 seconds) and Squeeze Baccarat (for a more theatrical experience).
Live Roulette
European Roulette uses a single-zero wheel, giving a house edge of 2.7%. Beginners should start with outside bets — Red/Black or Odd/Even — which pay 1:1 and win roughly 48.6% of the time. Evolution Gaming's Live Roulette tables at 96M include a detailed statistics panel showing the last 500 results, which many players find useful when starting out.
Dragon Tiger
Dragon Tiger is a two-card showdown: one card is dealt to Dragon, one to Tiger, and the higher card wins. It's faster than baccarat and has just two main bets — Dragon or Tiger — making it the simplest entry point into live table games. Asia Gaming and WM Casino both offer Dragon Tiger at 96M.
Live Blackjack
Blackjack requires slightly more decision-making (Hit, Stand, Double, Split) and benefits from learning basic strategy before playing. It's excellent value when played correctly — the house edge on standard Blackjack with basic strategy is below 0.5% — but is best approached after gaining confidence on Baccarat or Dragon Tiger first.
How to Play Live Baccarat Step-by-Step
Live Baccarat at 96M follows standard punto banco rules. Here is exactly what happens each round, from the moment you sit at the table.
- The betting window opens. A countdown timer (typically 15–20 seconds) appears on screen. During this window, place your chip on Player, Banker, or Tie using the chip panel at the bottom of the screen.
- The dealer draws two cards each for Player and Banker. Cards are drawn face-up on a physical felt table. The stream shows every card clearly.
- Hand values are calculated. Card values: Ace = 1, cards 2–9 = face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0. Only the last digit of the total counts — so a 7 and 8 totalling 15 counts as 5.
- Third-card rules apply automatically. The dealer follows fixed drawing rules — you don't need to make any decisions. If either hand totals 8 or 9 on the first two cards (a "natural"), no third card is drawn.
- The higher hand wins. If you bet on the winning side, winnings are credited instantly. Banker wins pay out at 0.95:1 (a 5% commission is deducted). Player wins pay 1:1. Tie wins pay 8:1 but the Tie bet carries a high house edge of approximately 14.4% and is generally not recommended for beginners.

The 96M Baccarat 8 Winning Streak Bonus
96M's Live Baccarat 8 Winning Streak Bonus rewards players who win 8 consecutive baccarat hands with a bonus of up to RM3,888. This promotion is unique to 96M and is separate from the 288% Welcome Bonus (up to RM2,880) available to new accounts.
Key points about the streak bonus:
- The bonus applies specifically to live baccarat games in the live casino section.
- Eight consecutive wins on the Player or Banker bet qualify — Tie bets do not count toward the streak.
- The maximum payout from the streak bonus is RM3,888.
- 96M has not published specific wagering requirements for this promotion on its public pages — check the bonus guide for the latest terms or contact 96M's 24/7 live chat before opting in.
A winning streak of 8 in baccarat is statistically uncommon — the probability of winning 8 Banker bets in a row is approximately 0.57% (0.5068 to the power of 8). This makes the bonus a genuine incentive for regular live baccarat players rather than a routine promotional mechanism. It adds an extra layer of excitement without requiring any change to standard play strategy.
Important note: Always read the full bonus terms before opting in. Wagering requirements, game restrictions, and minimum bet thresholds apply to most casino promotions. Our 96M welcome bonus guide explains how to read these terms correctly.
5 Live Casino Tips for New Players
These five principles apply specifically to live casino beginners at 96M. They won't guarantee wins — no strategy can — but they will help you play more confidently and make your bankroll last longer.
1. Start with the Banker Bet in Baccarat
The Banker bet in baccarat has the lowest house edge of any standard live casino bet at 1.06%. It wins slightly more than 50% of rounds (excluding ties). New players who stick exclusively to the Banker bet while learning the game's rhythm will face the least statistical disadvantage available at any live table.
2. Use Low-Stakes Tables to Learn the Interface
96M supports low minimum bets across its live casino lobby. Spend your first few sessions at the lowest available stakes — understanding the betting timer, chip placement UI, and side bet options before increasing your bet size. A RM50 deposit can give you 20–50 hands at minimum-stake tables.
3. Avoid the Tie Bet in Baccarat
The Tie bet in baccarat pays 8:1 but carries a house edge of approximately 14.4%. It lands roughly once every 10 rounds. Most experienced baccarat players treat it as a novelty bet rather than a core strategy. Stick to Player and Banker until you are comfortable at the table.
4. Set a Session Budget Before You Start
Decide your session limit — the maximum you are comfortable losing in one sitting — before you open the live casino lobby. The fastest way to make impulsive decisions is to enter a live casino without a clear stop-loss figure. 96M supports responsible gambling tools; visit our responsible gambling page for guidance on deposit limits and session controls.
5. Play on a Stable Connection
Live casino streams drop frames on unstable connections — a disconnection during an active bet can cause confusion about the result. Play over WiFi or a reliable 4G connection rather than on a weak signal. 96M's mobile apps for iOS and Android optimise stream quality automatically, but connection stability is still the player's responsibility.
