MVFRA TRAINING UNIT
Training is the key objective of MVFRA. In realizing the importance of training and in order to enhance the volunteers' skills in humanitarian aid and disaster response, MVFRA has further developed the training unit.
Besides training our own volunteers, MVFRA also conducts training to ERTS, Residents Associations, Schools and Kindergartens etc..
Current MVFRA projects are the Fire Kids Club Safety workshops for children and the Disaster Response & Relief Programmes for volunteers.
T
he Fire Kids Club Safety workshop is targeted to train about 25,000 children by the year . The objective is to train children regarding fire safety both at home and at school.
The Disaster Response & Relief programme is targeted to train about 20,000 Malaysians to be fully prepared to face any eventual disasters in the near future.
The MVFRA Training Unit is also expected to develop training programmes to all supporting units through exchange programmes.
Having identified our training
requirements, we are in co-operation with local as well as international bodies in obtaining best and latest training materials.
In order that our volunteers can keep in touch with the latest happenings and training methods, MVFRA plans to create an IT Network where the volunteers can share their points of view and also to exchange ideas. A group of volunteers will be assigned to study and to identify possible disaster-prone locations in our country. When these studies are completed, the MVFRA Training Team will be able to prepare suitable training activities and to set up Response Plan and Emergency Response Teams in the “hot” areas.
MVFRA UNITS TRAINING
A group of volunteers with the support of an experience advisor is currently managing this unit. The MVFRA Training Unit is to provide training to our volunteers on a regular basis as well as to organize skills-building programmes, seminars, workshops, join exercise and overseas exchange programmes.
